Photo Pin Board
Girlguiding UK has almost 600 000 members – what do we look
like in our birthday year?
The Photo Pin Board is your chance to be a part of our special
year by helping to create a visual representation of our
membership. We hope to receive enough photos to create a large
scale mosaic of our girl members who feature in the
photos.
We are looking for good quality photos.
ONLY LEADERS ARE TO UPLOAD PHOTOS TO FLICKR TO ENSURE CORRECT
PERMISSIONS ARE OBTAINED.
Flickr is a social networking website and due to this, it may be
useful to read Girlguiding UK's Online
Safety Guidelines for social networking. If you have any
questions about this please do not hesitate to contact the Web Team
at websupport@girlguiding.org.uk
Some criteria to follow when taking the photos are:
- Keep the shot of the head and shoulders only.
- The photos need to be of girls taken (members age 4 – 26).
- Photos of adult members can be included if
they have been taken by members under 26.
- The member can be in or out of their guiding uniform.
- Keep the original file size to at least 1MB to ensure a high
enough quality image to be used.
Once you have collected your images all you need to do is upload
the photos to our Flickr album. Go to
the Instruction page for a step by step guide to signing up for
Flickr and uploading photos.. You also have the option to send
in a CD or DVD of your photos if you would prefer not to create a
Yahoo ID or sign up to Flickr. Find out about
submitting your photos on CD or DVD.
We will be collating your images over the coming year and your
photos may appear in Centenary publications such as the Centenary
Launch Party DVD or future Girlguiding UK resources. You may also
see your face appear right here on the website! We will also be
providing each Country and Region with photos so that they can use
them too!
Remember that you will need to have parental permission for all
photos of members under 16. We have provided the letter of
consent specifically for this project too, which explains that
the photos will be used on the Flickr web site.
You can submit photos until the Centenary Finale moment on
20 October 2010.
Please note that the sooner you submit the photos, the more
likely it is they will be used.
Happy snapping!
