Get involved with the Centenary

New to Girlguiding UK?

If you’d like to find out more about Girlguiding UK and maybe have a go at getting involved then you’ve come along at just the right time! We’re enjoying our biggest birthday celebrations ever – a whole year of events and projects to celebrate our Centenary so why not join us.

Already a member?

Many of the Centenary events and projects have now taken place thanks to the time and effort of Girlguiding UK volunteers.

If you're looking for a way to get involved then why not help local units and Trefoil Guild groups to submit their stories to our Story Bank and to upload their photos and film to Catch the Moment (don't forget to do this yourself!).

You can also still help by giving to the Centenary Fund. and you can reconnect with friends from guiding past and present on our very own social network Guides Reconnected.

Local guiding may also need volunteers, please talk to your County Commissioner or County Centenary Champion.

Volunteer for the World Conference 2011

Wanted! Events assistants for Vision – Heythrop Park, Oxford.

We urgently need local events assistants to support the lead volunteer on 20 October 2010. As this event takes place at the Young Women's World Forum we particularly welcome applications from Senior Section members.

We need 20 assistants from local counties to help in the set up, delivery and clear up of this event. Jobs include decorating the marquee, setting up stalls, hosting guests, arranging tables and filling goody bags. During the evening we will also require First Aiders, marshalls, stall helpers and at the end we need a few hardy souls to clear up!

Help will be needed from approximately 11.00am on 20 October until 10.00pm. We will require volunteers for two shifts 11am- 4pm for set up and 4pm-10pm for delivery and clear up.
We will supply you with one meal, a Centenary top and the chance to be involved with the party that celebrates a year of Centenary celebrations and the start of many more countries celebrating their Centenary.

If you live within the local area we really want to hear from you!
Contact Suzie Green by email suzie.green@girlguiding.org.uk or telephone 020 7834 6242 ext 2046 for more details. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
