Rainbows Go Wild! at the Zoo - London Zoo
Over 1600 Rainbows went wild at London Zoo over the
weekend and enjoyed a special programme of activities put on by
London Zoo along with all the regular attractions London Zoo has to
offer.
Girls took part in special hands-on activities including:
- animal encounters - of all shapes and sizes!
- hippo teeth-cleaning,
- mini keeper activities,
- butterfly crafts and counting,
- rainforest I-spy, and
- feeding the hungry giraffes.
In addition to this, all the Rainbows were set the challenge of
finding a real life Olivia within the zoo. This created a special
atmosphere of guiding excitement! One Leader told us that as they
were coming passed this morning on the coach and the Rainbows
were shouting out "there’s Olivia, there’s Olivia" and she had told
them that no it wasn’t, it was just someone in a red tracksuit.
When they got to the entrance and met Olivia the Rainbows to then
shouted "look we told you"!
Girlguiding UK would like to thank Zoological Society of London
for their immense efforts to make the weekend a memorable event. We
would also like to thank the sponsors of this event Ladybird Books
and supporters Bananagrams and RSCSP Animal Action magazine!
