Ulster
Girls and young women from Giants
Causeway, North Antrim joined over 550,000 girls and women
for the UK’s biggest birthday bash of the year - the launch of
Girlguiding UK’s Centenary celebrations.
Hundreds of events took place over the weekend
of September 5 and 6, with one in North Antrim which was
particularly spectacular:
To mark the start of Girlguiding UK’s
Centenary year, 100 girls stood on 100 stones on the Giants
Causeway to represent each year of guiding. The girls stood
on the stones from 10am for 30 minutes to allow for photos and
filming. This was a fantastic opportunity to see 100 girls
representing the Girlguiding UK’s Centenary year.
