Sub-camps
There will be eight sub-camps, each with its
own unique identity and atmosphere.
Each sub-camp will provide a base for
participants and their Leaders, and be run by a team of experienced
adults. There’ll be basic first-aid posts, snack stops, socialising
areas and, of course, loos and showers, on each area.
You’ll also get to meet Guides and Girl Scouts
from other parts of the UK and abroad, as they’ll be camping
alongside you.
Sub-camp places will be allocated by the
organising team.
Members of the STAR and CAST teams will camp
on the staff
sub-camp.
Please note
Contingent leaders: If you are ordering an extra tent to use at
camp, please select the colour of tent appropriate to your
sub-camp.
The list of sub-camps and their colours
are:
- Amethyst - green tents.
- Emerald - green tents.
- Sapphire - blue tents.
- Topaz - blue tents.
- Ruby - orange tents.
- Amber - orange tents.
- Jet - bronze tents.
CAST and STAR members may choose whichever colour tent they would
like.
Be Adventurous – take off to the Jet sub-camp at Harewood
House
Will you be aged 14-16 next summer?
Fancy joining in the fun, friendship and challenge of a big
international camp?
Then sign up for the Jets sub-camp at Centenary Camp.
This special sub-camp for older Guides and younger Senior
Section members means you can come to camp on your own or with a
group of guiding friends – you don’t have to come with a
Leader.
But don’t worry – you won’t be left totally on your own. The
sub-camp Leader and her team will be there to give you help and
support night and day – if you have a question that needs answering
or a problem to solve, they’ll be there for you.
Also:
- You’ll live on your own sub-camp but be part of the largest
Guide camp ever organised by Girlguiding UK.
- You’ll make new friends from all over the world – Guides and
Girl Scouts from all over the globe – from Australia to Zimbabwe –
will want to meet YOU!
- You’ll have a special selection of activities just for your age
group but you’ll be able to catch the special buzz of Centenary
Camp events and facilities too
The cost will be the same as Guide participants (£400) and that
includes guaranteed entry to Fusion, all your meals, served in
restaurants (with no washing up!), an amazing choice of activities
and Centenary Camp branded kit items.
Don’t forget you can apply for grants and bursaries, as well as
stage your own fund-raising events, to help pay your camp fee.
Camp organisers made the decision to set up the Jets sub-camp
after consulting Senior Section members. They felt this age group
was in danger of missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity.
