Find out about the special Brownie
Sleepover at Centenary Camp.
Leaders will need their Girlguiding UK membership number
available (this can be found on your Appointment Card) and an email
address. Please note that leaders must complete the Criminal
Record disclosure process for the country in which they live.
Girls’ details are not required at this stage - they can be
confirmed later.
The Camp Group leader need not be the unit Guider – for example,
she could be a District Commissioner, Rainbow, Brownie or Ranger
leader, but she must be known to the girls and be a member of
Girlguiding UK.
The four Guides will share one Centenary Camp tent – to be
supplied on arrival.
Leaders will be requested to share a separate Centenary Camp
tent (also supplied) with another leader and may choose to specify
that person on their application form. If you do not have a
preference for sharing, you will be allocated a tent-share partner.
Leaders will be linked up once deposits have been paid.
Camp Groups will receive confirmation of a place by
email within two weeks of their application being
submitted.
Cost and payment
The camp fee is £400 per Guide participant and £300 for their
leader.
A non-returnable deposit of £100 per person must be
paid within six weeks of the confirmation email being
sent.
If the deposit is not received, the group will be removed from
the confirmed places list and put on a waiting list. Places will be
offered to Camp Groups on the waiting list as and when they become
available.
The final balance for the Camp Group must be paid by May 1,
2010.
Deposits and balance payments will be made by cheque, or a bank
transfer. Groups attending the Centenary Camp will be emailed
with details of how to make these payments, the payment deadlines
and will always need to include their booking reference
number. Groups will be required to make the payments in one
transaction; installments or individual payments will not be
accepted.
You will need to make sure that you as Camp Group Leader, or
someone connected with your unit – an assistant/unit helper or
parent, for example – is able to complete the online registration
procedure and deal with correspondence and admin via the internet.
They must also have the ability to download and print off forms,
information, etc. Please ask your commissioner for help if you
don’t feel confident in doing this yourself. There WILL be someone
locally who can assist.
* Please note that the deposit secures your
number of places at the camp and although it is non-returnable it
is possible to change the name of a girl on your booking subsequent
to payment of deposit.
