Adult Adventures
The Centenary is our chance to celebrate the successes and
achievements of Girlguiding UK with our members and show to the
outside world what a modern, progressive organisation we are!
The vast array of activities and events on offer during our
Centenary year ensures that there really is something for everyone!
Of course, we are sure that adult Leaders will have just as much
fun and enjoyment as the girls and young women in their units when
they take part in events and activities with them! Don’t forget
that units in your area may be looking for extra leaders to help on
trips – try contacting your local Commissioner or Centenary
Champion for more information.
There is also a small selection of Adult Adventures available
for Girlguiding UK adult members and members of the Trefoil Guild.
Also do remember to look out for further locally-organised
opportunities to make the most of this extra-special year.
What can I do?
Ultimate Tall Ships Adventure around
the UK
Have your mountain-top moment on board the STS Lord
Nelson. Crew a Tall Ship getting involved with everything
from sail-setting, climbing the rigging and helming the ship. Take
in some spectacular scenery and let the wind lead the
way!

Cairngorm Mountain Adventure
Really experience winter with this mountaineering challenge.
Learn about ice-axeing and crampon techniques whilst taking part in
some winter mountaineering.

Ultimate Munro Challenge
An opportunity to experience a mountain top moment..literally by
climbing a Munro - a Scottish peak of 3,000 feet or over!
Take a peak of the view from the
top.
Ultimate Arctic Adventure
Experience the remoteness of the glacial Arctic mountains in
Sweden on this walking trip. Observe deer and elks in their natural
habitat and enjoy two days sightseeing in Stockholm.

South Atlantic Odyssey
Celebrate World Thinking Day on a far-off island by taking a
trip to the breathtaking Falklands Islands. Carry out conservation
work to help endangered species and hopefully you'll see the
resident penguins and albatrosses.

Charity Challenges
Get your mountain-top moment and raise funds for local guiding
at the same time by registering to take part in one of our Charity
Challenges. Choose from a trek across the Trans-Andes on horseback,
a coast to coast trek of Cuba or a Paris to Geneva cycle
ride.

Centenary tours for adults
Adult members and their friends have the opportunity to take a
Centenary adult tour of places in the UK of historic and geographic
significance, as well as places of guiding interest.

Don’t forget that all members of Girlguiding UK under 26 are
also members of the Senior Section and can take part in many of the
Senior Section Ultimate Adventures.
