100 years on... look at us now!
From September 2009 Girlguiding UK will be celebrating its
Centenary with a year of ground-breaking events and projects.
With over half a million young members aged between five and 25 the
range of opportunities to enable all our members to have a
mountain-top moment is wide and varied. Learn
about the history of Girlguiding UK.
Rainbows (aged 5-7) can Go Wild at a zoo or be at
a magical
Princess Party.
Brownies (aged 7-10) will be Taking Over PGL and Girlguiding UK
activity centres as well Take Over the Tracks (railway adventures)
and even international opportunities to visit Belgium and
France.
Guides (aged 10-14) are travelling internationally including
destinations such as Switzerland, Sweden and Mexico as well as
having the biggest ever Guide Camp in the UK, trips to UK and
international activity centres and unique sleepovers at Warwick
Castle and Alton Towers.
Senior Section members (aged 14-25) are travelling far and wide
to explore Costa Rica, Botswana, Lapland and Europe amongst many
other places. They’re also making the most of the UK with mountain
challenges, city breaks, a Tall Ship voyage and much more.
